Right.
First post.
I don’t think I can procrastinate any longer that I have.
WORK
I don’t think I am much of a writer, unless it is writing code. But even then, I am more of a debugger or fixer of code.
I work for Adobe Systems Inc. as a Senior Support Engineer for the Flex product line. I have sort of followed an odd career path in what would typically be a reverse order, having started as a Software Developer/Engineer, moving on to become a Software Quality (Assurance/Control) Engineer and now ending up a Software Support Engineer. I think I have found a good fit as I have always been good at discovering problems, understanding other peoples issues and proposing new (or tried and true) methods for solving them. Even thinking back to some of my earlier development/engineering gigs, a lot of those where on bugfix releases. So I guess for me, the progression I took from development through QA and into support is progression and not regression.
LIVE
OK. Enough with work. I am also a newlywed and a new homeowner. I think my path to this point is also outside of the ‘norm’. A lot of my friends and family have settled down much earlier than me. What can I say. I am slow. I’ve let school, work and other things get in the way of relationships and settling down. But I am here now. I am not sure which is more work, being a newlywed or being a new homeowner, but I think I’ll only be blogging about the latter here. Watch for photo-spreads of the home and surrounding area and rants and updates on home repairs and various projects.
PLAY
I play guitar. Another thing I was late getting to. I didn’t really start getting into music until the end of highschool and I didn’t actually start playing guitar until after my 2nd year in University when I was 19 yrs old. I am into blues guitar. From pre-war blues, delta, piedmont, ragtime stuff to Chicago and West Coast blues, to some of the contemporary players. I also have a bit of a guitar and gear problem. This was especially evident when I recently moved half way across the country and had to pack up all 25 guitars (or so) that I had collected. Mind you, I did sell off a few guitars and some of my gear to finance a few important things that were happening around that time. I’ll be adding content to this site on the guitars and musical gear that I own and want to own, luthiery (which I’d like to explore more at some point), artists I admire and are my influences and songs that I just can’t get enough of or am trying to learn. Stay tuned!
